Oil Drain: Since the stator in these models usually runs in an oil bath ("wet stator"), the engine oil must be drained before opening the side cover.
Gaskets: Always use a new crankcase gasket during reassembly to prevent leaks.
Cable Routing: Ensure that the wiring to the regulator is routed without chafing and that the rubber grommet fits perfectly in the engine case to prevent oil leaks.
System Check: After installation, check the charging voltage at the battery with the engine running (should typically be between 13.8V and 14.5V).
Tip: If the old stator burned out, check the voltage regulator (rectifier) as well, as a faulty regulator can damage the new stator.
