Access: Dismantle the wheel or fairing to gain access to the brake caliper (often located on the cardan shaft or rear axle) which operates the parking brake.
Pad Replacement:
- Remove the retaining pins or safety clips of the old brake pads.
- Remove the old pads.
- Insert the new pads into the brake caliper, ensuring the friction surface faces the brake disc.
- Reinstall the retaining pins or safety clips.
Function Check: After installation, the correct function of the parking brake must be checked, and the cable tension should be adjusted if necessary, so that the pads are free when released and brake securely when applied.
Bedding In: Full braking performance is only achieved after a short bedding-in phase.
