• Visual Compatibility: Before installation, perform a visual check. Exactly compare the number of plugs and wire colors with your old part, as fuel-injected (EFI) models require a different regulator.

• Clean Contacts: Check the vehicle's connectors for corrosion or burnt spots. If necessary, clean the contacts with contact cleaner to prevent resistance.

• Heat Dissipation: Ensure the regulator is firmly bolted to the frame. The mounting surface often acts as an additional heat sink. Keep the cooling fins free of mud and debris.

• Battery Check: A faulty regulator often damages the battery. After installation, check the charging voltage at the battery with the engine running (target value approx. 13.8V to 14.5V).
