Installation & Maintenance Instructions: (For guidance purposes only)
-
Visual Compatibility: Before installation, perform a visual check. It is essential to compare the number of pins in the connector and the housing design with your old CDI.
-
AC vs. DC: Ensure your vehicle has an AC ignition system. Confusing it with a DC CDI (Direct Current) can lead to immediate failure of the component or fuses. A sign of an AC system is often if the vehicle can start without a battery (via kickstart).
-
Contact Reliability: Clean the vehicle-side connectors before plugging them in. Corroded contacts are a common cause of misfires. The use of some contact cleaner is recommended.
-
Vibration Protection: Always mount the CDI in its designated rubber holder. Direct contact with the frame can damage the internal electronics due to vibrations.
-
Troubleshooting: If there is still no spark after replacement, please also check the ignition coil, the spark plug cap, and the stator (alternator)
