Visual Compatibility: Before installation, perform a visual check. Exactly compare the shape and dimensions of the new filter with your old part, as different airboxes may have been used within model series.
Cleaning the Housing: Before inserting the new filter, thoroughly clean the inside of the air filter box with a clean cloth. Ensure that no dirt falls into the intake manifold towards the carburetor.
Sealing: Ensure the filter sits firmly and flush in the housing. Any leak at the filter edge ("unmetered air") allows unfiltered air into the engine, which can lead to rapid wear.
Maintenance Interval: We recommend checking the air filter regularly – especially after riding in dusty or off-road conditions. A deep black or oil-clogged filter should be replaced immediately.
Dry Cleaning: Never blow out the filter with compressed air if it is a paper-based filter, as this can destroy the pore structure. Replacement is the safer option.
