Visual Compatibility: Before installation, perform a visual check. Compare the inner diameter of the mount with the diameter of your steering stem and the distance between the mounting holes.
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the contact surface on the steering stem to remove old grease, rust, and dirt before installing the new shells.
Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of high-quality bearing grease to the inside of the shells. This reduces friction while steering and prevents premature wear and squeaking noises.
Even Tightening: Tighten the mounting bolts evenly. Ensure that the steering remains smooth and does not bind. The column should have no perceptible play but must turn without resistance.
