• Visual Compatibility: Before installation, perform a visual check. It is essential to count the teeth on your old part (17 and 60 teeth), as different ratios may exist depending on the starter type used.

• Inspect Shafts: During assembly, also check the pivot pins (axles) on which the gears run, as well as the corresponding thrust washers for signs of wear.

• Lubrication: Generously coat the teeth and the inner bore of the gear with fresh engine oil before reattaching the side cover to prevent dry friction during the initial start.

• Check Starter Pinion: Additionally, inspect the pinion gear on your starter motor shaft. If the intermediate gear is damaged, the starter pinion often shows wear that could quickly damage the new gear
