  • Clean Installation: Thoroughly clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head of any old residue before installing the new manifold. An uneven surface will result in immediate leaks.

  • Clamp Inspection: Check the condition of the hose clamp on the carburetor during installation. A clamp that is too tight can cut the rubber of the new manifold, while a clamp that is too loose will allow air leaks.

  • Leak Check: After installation, test the connection with the engine running (e.g., by carefully spraying with brake cleaner). If the engine RPM changes, the system is still leaking.
