Safety: Strictly disconnect the negative battery cable before replacement. Since the main terminals of the relay carry high current directly from the battery, there is a serious risk of a short circuit if they touch the frame.
Contact Maintenance: Clean the ring terminals of the heavy battery cables with a bit of abrasive fleece or a wire brush. Corroded contacts are the most common cause of burnt relay housings.
Rubber Protection: Ensure the provided or existing rubber protective cap fully covers the screw terminals to prevent short circuits caused by splash water or tool contact.
Troubleshooting: If the starter only "clicks," check the battery voltage first (under load). If the relay does not react at all, check the fuse and the starter button on the handlebar
